The Story
Schneider Electric is an energy management company looking to empower businesses to make the most of their energy and resources. Within Schneider lies the NEO team, which helps corporate clients meet their sustainability goals. They had attempted multiple times to revamp a product called the NEO Network, which partners corporate clients with renewable energy solution providers, but the problem was so complex that they struggled to find a team that could tackle it all. Schneider Electric called Slingshot because they felt we could understand what they were trying to create.

Taking Aim
Because of the complexity of this problem, we started with an intensive discovery phase to help wrap our heads around what they were trying to do; we didn’t assume and go, we spent a lot of time trying to understand the industry-specific issues before starting. This included several months of talking to stakeholders and users and understanding what the problems were and what they needed. We also spent a lot of time user testing to ensure our assumptions were correct. Finally, we implemented a large development team to help tackle the immense scale.
Objectives

- Developed an online portal for corporations to find providers, and for providers to connect with corporations.
- Created the ability for all communication to happen within the system: from research, to messaging, and project matching.
- Integrated with the Azure sign-on system.
Hitting The Target
The NEO network is now live for corporations and renewable energy providers to utilize. The online portal helps corporations find providers to utilize for their sustainability projects, as well as allows providers to showcase their abilities and find potential customers. The network is a one-stop-shop for project matching: from research, to messaging, and everything in between.
