A branch within Verustat helping family caregivers stay informed about the health of their loved ones through a secure, reliable, and user-friendly senior health monitoring system
The Story
Connected Caregiver is a branch within Verustat with a mission to make taking care of your loved ones easier and simpler. In addition to the hardware devices they’ve developed, Connected Caregiver built an app to provide remote monitoring of vitals info and important alerts. The problem? The original app was built with speed in mind, meaning it wasn’t utilizing an easy to use interface. Connected Caregiver came to Slingshot looking for UX/UI Design expertise as they looked to their next iteration of the app.

Taking Aim
Slingshot started this project by sitting down with stakeholders and understanding what needed to be done. It’s a good thing we did; by getting everyone on the same page at both companies, we were able to better-refine the scope. We also conducted user interviews to ensure we were on the right track. Next, we brought the Connected Caregiver team into our design shop to gather their feedback on the direction of the UI and UX designs. Finally, a clickable prototype was developed and tested, iterating where necessary. For this project, we built a larger prototype than usual, since we were handing it off to their internal development team.
Objectives
- Conducted stakeholder and user interviews for feature building
- Held a design shop with the Connected Caregiver team for more collaboration
- Designed the mobile app prototype with an easy-to-use and simple interface
- Created an interface that helped push users through the Freemium model
- Developed a clickable prototype in Figma for both user testing and internal demos
Hitting The Target
Connected Caregiver is now developing the clickable prototype we designed. This project was a success; we finished on time with happy customers. Good news: the development is currently being completed by their team with support from our partners. One big Daredevil family! Keep your eyes peeled for the final release.
